Reverse Transfer
Previous students who have taken additional college courses are encouraged to use the BSC Reverse Transfer process to earn their BSC degree. This process recognizes your accomplishments and awards you the important credential you deserve. Degrees will be awarded once, at the end of the semester.
Just follow the steps below:
Determine Which Type of Situation Fits You:
If you are a former BSC student who received an invitation to participate in the North Dakota University System (NDUS) Reverse Transfer Program, you are a
NDUS Reverse Transfer Student
.
If you are a former BSC student who has additional college credits you want to use to earn your degree at BSC, you are a
Traditional Reverse Transfer Student
.
NDUS Reverse Transfer Student
Once you receive the email inviting you to participate in the NDUS Reverse Transfer Program, respond to the email letting BSC know you want to participate (opt-in).
What happens next:
BSC will send a confirmation email.
BSC will request your NDUS university/college transcript(s) and complete a pre-evaluation to determine if degree requirements have been met.
BSC will notify you of your degree eligibility.
Students who are eligible for a degree should:

Application for Degree
A final evaluation will be completed at the end of the semester once final grades are posted (this process can take 3-4 weeks).
Degrees will be posted to the BSC transcript and diplomas will be mailed 4-6 weeks after the end of the semester.
Students who are not eligible for a degree may need to take additional coursework at BSC or another institution to meet your degree requirements. Your options to meet BSC degree requirements will be outlined in the email you receive.
Traditional Reverse Transfer Student
To earn your degree, complete the following steps:

Application for Degree
Use the current semester and current year as your Graduation Term
If you don't remember your campus email, you may use a preferred email.
Request all other college/university transcript(s):
Send to:
Bismarck State College Admissions
P.O. Box 5587
Bismarck, ND 58506-5587
Please note: All final transcripts from other colleges or universities must be received in the Academic Records office by 30 days after the end of the semester.
What happens next:
A confirmation email will be sent once the Application for Degree has been submitted.
A pre-evaluation will be completed by Academic Records to ensure your degree requirements have been met (you will be contacted only if Academic Records has any questions or you are not eligible for your degree).
A final evaluation will be completed at the end of the semester once final grades are posted (this process can take 3-4 weeks).
Degree will be posted to your BSC transcript and diplomas will be mailed 4-6 weeks after the end of the semester.
